Great Recipe To Make With Your Kids… Gran Kids…

I have so many happy memories of helping my mum in the kitchen as a child.

It was ‘our’ place.

Obviously baking was best… (cake dough… ooahh)

But that seems like hundreds of years ago, but those fond memories encouraged me to ensure my daughter got as much kitchen time as she wanted.

Anyway here is a fantastic granola recipe that kids will luv making… and eating (don’t worry this is good for them too!)…

Figgy Chia Granola

Ingredients (3-4 cups)

  • 1.5 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup each almonds, walnuts, chia
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup figs


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix dry ingredients minus figs.
  3. Add wet ingredients and mix well.
  4. Pour granola on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring twice.
  6. When granola is cool, add chopped figs.
  7. Store in an air-tight container.
